Accommodation & Work Placements

ACCOMMODATION

Single, double and triple rooms, with bathroom, internet.

The accommodation is situated in old town and city center. The participants can use the fridge, tea maker, coffee maker, iron, ironing board and microwave. This accommodation is very appreciated by the responsible of the groups, because it facilitates the control of the participants during the period of mobility.

We try to accommodate students not far from their work places, so the maximum time to get there is a 15-20 minutes walk.

WORK PLACEMENT

We offer placements in every possible sector available in Syros island.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can provide students with fantastic practical experience, so don’t overlook them when it comes to work placements.

Placements depend completely on the trainee’s language skills and on their vocational training and experience.

The restrictions on who you work for and where you work are fairly flexible – you can choose to work in most sectors, in private or public companies, schools, trade unions or non-profit organisations.

MONITORING

We organise regular meetings and individual discussions with participants in order to successfully monitor the progress of the project.

The meetings are as follows:

The opening introductory meeting
Follow-up meetings and individual discussions
During the work placement period collective meetings
Individual discussions with participants for solving any problems
The final evaluation meeting

CULTURAL PROGRAMME

Our organization offer a number of visits and activities that will help the student to get to know and understand everyday life in the Greek culture.

The island’s spiritual and artistic tradition begins to attract tourists of high cultural and social status. The exceptional mansions as well as the unique architecture of public buildings in Ermoupoli give the feeling of an open-air museum that slowly begins to be acknowledged by the continuous visitors. Syros is an island famous both for its blooming culture as well as its long history. The cosmopolitan island of Syros is a picturesque island offering various choices of entertainment for all tastes and preferences.
